Underlying Characteristics Checklist: High-Functioning Autism (UCC-HF)

The Underlying Characteristics Checklist - High Functioning (UCC-HF) are non-standardized assessment tools intended for use with individuals of all ages who have been diagnosed with ASD or who exhibit behaviors that are often related to ASD and require intervention. The UCC is designed to assist in developing targeted interventions and supports for individuals across the lifespan. The domains assessed include: Social; Restricted Patterns of Behavior, Interests, and Activities; Communication; Sensory Differences; Cognitive Differences; Motor Differences; Emotional Vulnerability; and Medical or Other Biological Factors. The UCC includes the Individual Strengths and Skills Inventory (ISSI), a parallel tool for identifying strengths across the same domains.
There are five versions of the UCC for use with individuals cross the lifespan. This version is intended for high-functioning individuals ages 6+ who have high-functioning autism. Also in French. Package of 20 blank protocols. Manual comes in a digital format and is included with your purchase.
MEET THE AUTHORS
Ruth Aspy, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in private practice with the Ziggurat Group. Dr. Aspy specializes in assessment and intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. She is co-creator of a comprehensive model of intervention. Along with Dr. Barry Grossman, Dr. Aspy has written The Ziggurat Model, winner of the ASA Literary Award of the Year. Dr. Aspy speaks internationally and has experience in clinic and school settings. Aspy and Grossman have co-authored with two colleagues, FBA to Z: Functional Behavior and Intervention Plans for Individuals with ASD.
Barry G. Grossman, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and author. He specializes in assessment and intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Grossman, along with Dr. Aspy, wrote The Ziggurat Model — a book on designing interventions for students with high-functioning autism. He and his co-author present on this model nationally. The Ziggurat Model has been adopted at the district-wide and state-wide levels. Aspy and Grossman, along with colleagues, Brenda Smith Myles and Shawn Henry, have co-authored: FBA to Z: Functional Behavior and Intervention Plans for Individuals with ASD.
